This page is dedicated to all those awesome people & their creations and online services, without which Bangalore Hikers and its online presence would be incomplete.
Unless otherwise stated Bangalore Hikers website and related online applications, are created using open source software and all free resources and tools available online. We are open to share our source code which we developed, used 'as in' or modified someone's creations to others who would like to view that code, copy it, learn from it, alter it, or share it. Soon the complete code repository will be available online.
- The Bangalore Hikers logo has been designed and the tag line written by Santosh Kumar Gupta, co-founder of Bangalore Hikers.
- The website is powered by Blogger. If you want to set up a website/blog of your own, go for it.
- The website template (web version) is based on Galauness Blogger Template, by Iksandi Lojaya and modified by, Santosh Kumar Gupta. Blogger users, check it out.
- The new web forms are based on Gform Scraper, has been developed for Bangalore Hikers entirely from scratch by Santosh Kumar Gupta and released as opensource project. It is written in Python programming language.
- The gallery has been designed entirely from scratch by Santosh Kumar Gupta, using Google Apps Script and Google Drive. (This application will be soon replaced by another application which in under development, the new application will show the FaceBook albums.)
- The image slider in our homepage is based on Nivo Slider.
- Media viewer (images, videos, YouTube, popup web info) is based on Shadowbox.
- All online forms in our websites are designed using Google Forms, Google Sheets, Google Apps Script, Google App Engine, Gmail and reCAPTCHA.
- All downloadable document files are created in Google Docs.
- Facebook and Google+ for social connections.
- Facebook apps are designed by Santosh Kumar Gupta.
- Static files like Javascripts, CSS and flash movies etc. are hosted on GitHub.
- Videos are hosted on YouTube.
